Becoming Catholic

OCIA
the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults

Would you like to receive Baptism into the Christian faith, receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, enrich your prayer-life, grow in your relationship with God in becoming an intentional disciple of Jesus Christ, uncover the wonderful treasures within the Catholic faith?

All are welcome, whether you are a person desiring to enter into the Catholic faith through Baptism or full communion (for those already baptized), an already Confirmed Catholic, a convert to the Catholic faith, or an adult Catholic desiring Confirmation. You are welcome to begin a wonderful journey of faith through the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation). Individual sessions begin in September!

What is OCIA?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process whereby newcomers (inquirers) enter the Catholic Church.  OCIA classes are held continuously (year round).  These classes provide the inquirer an opportunity not only to learn about what the Catholic Church believes, but also to ask questions and engage in group discussion about those beliefs.

We also encourage those adult Catholics who would like to participate in an effort to deepen their faith to attend along with our newcomers.

Experience God’s tremendous love as you build a close relationship with Jesus Christ through various forms of prayer, including praying through Sacred Scripture, and discovering the richness of the Catholic Church! Come and learn about the Holy Mass, the Sacraments, and how to live out the Christian faith.

When our weekly sessions begin they will be held in person when possible, or through Zoom (internet) when necessary.

To arrange an individual inquiry meeting, please contact Carolyn Holecek (218) 681-4191 (home) or (218) 686-0811 (cell) for more information.
