Happy Summer Everyone! The St. Bernard's School 2025-2026 Calendar of Dates and Events is attached. While we generally follow the public school schedule, please note the exceptions marked in RED. A significant highlight for next year is our extended Easter Break, from April 2nd through April 12th. This extended break will enable our teachers to participate in the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) national convention in Minneapolis. We highly recommend that any families planning extended vacations consider scheduling them during this time to prevent students from missing valuable class instruction. Please also note the events on the left side of the paper, such as the Christmas Program, so that you can plan for this exciting year!

Catholic Schools Week is Going Strong at St. B's!

Congratulations to all of the St. Bernard’s School 2025 Science Fair Winners!

St. Bernard’s Robotics was tournament Teamwork Champion and Inspire Award winner at Riverside Christian School today!

The St. Bernard's Middle School Spelling Bee took place today, January 9th, in the parish hall, with a spirited competition among 5th and 6th graders. After nine challenging rounds, 6th grader Isaac Philipp emerged victorious, correctly spelling "nostrils" to claim the coveted title. Philipp will now advance to the Regional Spelling Bee on February 5th at Northland Community and Technical College. The competition was fierce, with 6th grader Chloe Peterson finishing as runner-up. A tight race for third place saw Albert Peralta and Harley Bernier tied for the honor. In the 5th-grade division, Annalea Sobotta and Claire Price shared the championship title. Carolyn Larson served as the pronouncer, while Macie Brekke and Laura Brickson diligently fulfilled their roles as judges. The event was well-attended by supportive parents who cheered on the young spellers. The St. Bernard's Spelling Bee is part of the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee, culminating in the national championship held in Washington, D.C. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication!

St. Bernard’s School Thrives as it Approaches Centennial with Record Growth @stbtrf St. Bernard’s School, Thief River Falls, MN, is thrilled to announce the following three milestones which mark a significant achievement as the school prepares to commemorate its centennial anniversary in 2025: · Record growth by raw numbers – Increase of 25 students year-over-year · Record growth by percentage – 24.4% Rate of growth year-over-year · Instituting waitlists for grades Preschool, Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grades. Interested families are encouraged to contact the school directly to inquire about potential openings or to be placed on a waitlist. Another milestone is the launch of the middle school program. The inaugural fifth and sixth grade classes are eager to explore the expanded academic and extracurricular opportunities St. Bernard’s is excited to offer. To further enhance the learning experience, the school has introduced a one-to-one laptop program for middle school students, providing each student with their own personal device. The middle school curriculum offers a diverse range of nine electives, including band, STEM, Discovering Latin, and “Making a Difference” Service Learning, catering to the varied interests and talents of its students. Additionally, the school’s differentiated math approach ensures that students receive the individualized support and challenges they need to succeed. The National Advisory Council (NAC) will be meeting in September and November to set the framework for the school’s future, ensuring that it continues to meet the evolving needs of its students and community.
